"Misuse of language"

"Plain language is inherently ambiguous. It's usage in math and science may and does lead to difficulties in communication and learning. Such words as "doublespeak" and "realpolitik" became part of the every day vocabulary. J.Paulos gives (what he calls a charming) example of an ambiguous letter that may have been written by a meek professor who couldn't turn down an importunate request for a recommendation:"

One of the things I read in your pages on Maths as a language...when o when will people stop misusing 'it's'? Delicious irony in this case (and I collect them).

Thank you for pointing this one out.

It's been corrected, you know. Hopefully you won't be deterred from pointing more if you see any.

All the best,
Alexander Bogomolny

   Hello Alex,

I see that you collected the concurrence of altitudes proof with altitudes as radical axes at https://www.cut-the-knot.org/triangle/altitudes.shtml. Thank you, thank you, thank you. There are 2 little typos that mar the beauty of the proof (just kidding). First, there is this invalid HTML code

Circles Ca and Cb</p>

in the second line that causes an unwanted line (or paragraph) break. Second, in the last but one line

"the pairwise radical axis of three circles concur" should be
"the pairwise radical axes of three circles concur"

Regards, Vladimir
