In a math session with other teachers doing a game meant for students called pig, which is from Marilyn Burns. we encountered a discussion that revolves around rolling a 1 on a die. Everyone agreed that the probability is 1 in 6 when you use one die. When using two die the questions and answers focused around it still being 1 in 6 or it being 11 in 36. Which is correct and why?

Thanks
