First off, let your daughter never suspect that something might be over her head. Things may be less or more difficult, but whathever she is going to run into is always doable. For it has been done before by countless kids.

Success or failure in any undertaking, math in particular, is to a great extent a matter of attitude. Your attitude is very important. Never ever make your daughter think that something is over your head. By now, as an adult, you probably have enough problem solving skills to approach any problem in a rational manner.

Also, mathforum.org sells a couple of very good Dr. Math algebra books. I would get those. If your algebra is rusty, try learning along on a steady basis, not only when the need arises, your daughter gets stuck. Do not make such cases an emergency. Learn along and play roles: let your daughter help you.
