>8/(3-(8/3))=24 >I found this out by luck on my calc. The above is correct. It's basically (8 / (1/3)) or 8*3. What about using the - as a unary operator? ((8-3)-8)*(-8) = 24 |

> make 24 using 3 , 3 , 8 , 8 and using them all only the >number of times they are given and u can use any >mathematical sign . Simple ? (3+(3/3))+(3+(3/3))+(8+8+8+8+8+8+8+8)+(8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8)=24!

Did you read the original post? It actually should have said that you can only using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (instead of any math sign.) |

The question should read that you can only use each number once, meaning you can use 3 twice and 8 twice. You MUST use 3 twice and 8 twice ONLY. And the one answer given above leaves a fraction. So that won't work. |

>8 times 3 =24 Divide by 3 = 8 times 3 = 24 This one is wrong. You used the 3 three different times and the 8 only once. (You did 8 times 3, then divided by 3, then times 3 again.) The second 8 is a quotient to 24 divided by 3 so it doesn't count.) |
