"cut in 2"
 
  
I am trying to solve the following problem: using ruler and compass
draw a line thru a random point inside a triangle that will cut this
triangle into 2 equal areas. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

   You may try posting your question at the Hyacinthos group, whose sole interest is in the triangle geometry. Very expert people there.

Go to https://groups.yahoo.com/ and locate there and signed up for the Hyacinthos group.
