"need help with a problem..."
|
I'm a college student and a friend of mine who is studying to be a high school math teacher found this in i think it was a 3rd grade math book and neither she nor i nor her teacher can figure it out and was hoping for some help here! I'll post it..help!! 3*4>5 4*7>1 1*2>9 2*8>0 The * does not mean multiply and the > does not mean greater than...they are both just symbols. They can maan ANYTHING, but the * means the same thing in all four problems and the > means the same thing in all four problems. The last number (5, 1, 9, 0) are the final answers. (for example the first one might be something like 3+4-2=5 or something like that.) I don't know. this is probably an easy problem and i just can see the solution..but i'm stumped. |
