"Stuck in Peg Solitaire"

   Hi Everyone!

This is a truly great site. I was very pleased to see a good, jargon-lite explaination for how to go about solving Hi-Q (Peg Solitaire) especially because this is something I have broken my head over off and on ever since my high school days. (I suppose that calls for both :-) and :-(, eh? :-p

I am trying to follow the instructions given at
https://www.cut-the-knot.org/proofs/pegsolitaire.shtml
and managed to clear till the 4th "package". However I end up with the following configuration(hope the formatting comes out all right).

O O O

O O O

X X O O O O O

X X X O O O O

X X X X O O O

X X O

I do not know how to proceed further. Have I done anything wrong?
I also suspect that my 6-package clearances are not "canonical" clearances. Would anyone be kind enough to write out the further moves and the moves of the 6 package clearance a in algebric notation?

Thanks in advance,
Girish

Thank you for the kind words.

You can use html tags, but with brackets instead of triangular parentheses.

Not so far. This is exactly what you should have obtained after removing the 4th package.

Continue as follows, with the reference to the attached figure:
(A move is referred to by the location of its starting peg)

a3, c4, a4, c5, a5, c2

This removes package #5. To remove package #6 do this:

d5, c7, c4, e7, c7, b5

Thank you! You are most kind. I guess all that remains is for me to try and understand how the packages were craved up. :-) Today must be some kind of red-letter day in my life - I even successfully figured out how to parallel park my car! :-)

Thanks and cheers,
Girish

Where is the "jargon lite" explanation of how to solve Hi-Q (peg solitaire)? I cannot find it.
