"WHACKING the site"

   hi,
this site is so helpful. so i decided to read the complete site before my exams. i am doing so. but sometimes when i request a link, it is saying that i am violating terms of conditions, and i am saving the entire site. but so far i haven't copied a single page. what i am doing is to bookmark the topic that i am interested and just for review purpose only. is there any problem with that practice?

and i am getting this response after i installed "google's web accelerator". it'said to be caching some of the data for faster repeated responses. is this action my be mis interrupted as my behavior.

please review this.

regards..

Thank you for the kind words.

No, that's OK and should not cause a problem.

This may be the reason, although I doubt it. What my protection does is preventing blind download of pages. As long as it's a human who keeps clicking the protection won't be activated.

Also, this can't happen from page to page. Once protection has been activated, the whole site becomes unavailable.

There are two reasons I put this trick in:

  1. Commonly, bulk download transfers much more than a specific user is interested in;
  2. Because of cross-referencing, the software also transfers the files repeatedly,

Both of which cause an enormous load on the allowed bandwidth. Already once the site has been expelled by its hosts; I try to avoid a repeat of this bothersome situation where I had to transfer the site to a different server without incurring unsustainable expenses.

Give me your IP and I'll see to it that you have your normal access back.

i am answering the puzzles on the page. even though there is some activity,it is showing the waring message ("WHACKING"). but this is once in a while only (2 out of 15 pages of surfing). after refreshing it, i am able to access that page.

my IP is a dynamic one and as far as your protection is concerned, upto now it hasn't activated (not denied complete access to the site). it only showing the waring message suspecting my conduct.

up to now i don't have any problem browsing your site. but my intention is to put the inconvenience at your notice.

any way it's a timely nice response from you.

i found some of the typos in the topics. can i know whom to report them.

regards.

I truly appreciate your taking the time, but I am bewildered. How do you see the message? Mine must be in a full page, not a popup window.

I can't imagine this happening, because the message is triggered by an IP record set in the site's .htaccess file which is kind of permanent and page independent.

It has very little intelligence. The problem is probably in that that your refresh pages sets a new IP for you. Still, do please give me your IP. Especially because it's dynamic, I should remove all the IPs in your network from my banned list at .htaccess.

I do appreciate this.

Just fire away. Here or on any other forum. I am always grateful for the typos or errors.
