"Math Questions in addition ( I Stumped)!!!"
|
I'm a parent & I'm stumped I'm trying to get some help for my 3rd grader. What two odd numbers added together equal an odd number? & What even number plus an odd number equals an even number? Any hint or help would be greatly appreciated. I'm being to think these are trick questions. Are they? |

>I'm being to think these are trick questions. Are they? In all likelihood, yes. To me it's incomprehensible they would be asked in a third grade out of the blue. However, I heard 2 was said to be an odd number, because it's the only even prime. Allowing for this trickery, 2 plus any (really)odd number is odd and 2 plus an even number is even.

...and any odd number and 0 (0 is an even number as all even numbers are multiples of 2 (0 being 0x2))will make an even number. For example, 5 and 0 can give you 50; 3 and 0 can give you 30. Question is unfair though - should not be stated as add or plus. |
