"Circular Diameters Within A Circumscribed Circular Area"

   Hello.

This may be a simple question, but it's one which I must grapple with at the moment.

I need to know how to figure the circular perimeter which will encompass three circles of any given size; i.e.: three 6 unit diameter circles will fit within what circumscribed perimeter?

Thanks!

Could you please give us an idea of how you are grappling with that problem.
