The applet below is a sample distributed along with Java implementation of the OpenGL specifications. The applet demonstrates a morphing technique -- a transformation of one shape into another. Long, long ago I created an avi movie that showed a cube morphing into a sphere. To do that I used linear interpolation along radial lines. No doubt the applet employs a more sophisticated technique built into Java3d, but what is it exactly I have not yet found out.

If you were using a Java-capable browser, you would see a hand motion instead of this paragraph.

This applet requires Sun's Java VM 2 which your browser may perceive as a popup. Which it is not. If you want to see the applet work, visit Sun's website at, download and install Java VM and enjoy the applet. In addition, you'll need the Java3D library available at

What if applet does not run?
