Morphing

The applet below is a sample distributed along with Java implementation of the OpenGL specifications. The applet demonstrates a morphing technique -- a transformation of one shape into another. Long, long ago I created an avi movie that showed a cube morphing into a sphere. To do that I used linear interpolation along radial lines. No doubt the applet employs a more sophisticated technique built into Java3d, but what is it exactly I have not yet found out.

If you were using a Java-capable browser, you would see a hand motion instead of this paragraph.

This applet requires Sun's Java VM 2 which your browser may perceive as a popup. Which it is not. If you want to see the applet work, visit Sun's website at https://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp, download and install Java VM and enjoy the applet. In addition, you'll need the Java3D library available at https://download.java.net/media/java3d/builds/release/1.4.0_01/java3d-1_4_0_01-windows-i586.exe
