"Two Numbers Guessing Game trouble"

This is such a great web site, I love it! Math "magic tricks" are a favorite of mine, but I am having trouble with the "Two Numbers Guessing Game". Most of the time it works perfectly, but after coming up on a few that didn't seem to work, I made a list.

Take this puzzle, for instance:

Choose one of the numbers: 4 or 1
Multiply the number you chose by any even number.
Multiply the other number by any odd number.
Add the two products and type in the sum below.
Press the Enter key or "Guess". I'll announce your selection.

I chose 4, so first I multiplied it by the even number 2-
4 x 2 = 8
Next, I multiplied 1 x the odd number 3-
1 x 3 = 3
Then added them-
8 + 3 = 11
but when I entered "11", it'said my chosen number was 1.

As I wrote down ones which I thought were not getting the right answer, I clicked "Next" a bunch of times until I got the same exact puzzle to come up again. But this time it worked, with the same answer I entered last time. The next time it didn't.

For some reason, the answers are not the same all the time. I made sure I was comparing identical puzzles (such as is the number chosen multiplied by an even or odd number) and I even checked to see that the two numbers were in the same order (even though that should not make a difference). I did notice that every error I found was with puzzles in which the chosen number was multplied by an even number. Other problem sets included (6,7), (6,1) and (8,9). But like I said, the error doesn't occur every time.

I'd like to know if there is something wrong on my end, because if I am experiencing a Java error, then it might cause errors on other parts of the site. I am using XP SP2 with everything updated as of today and the latest version of Java downloaded from sundotcom.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
