I was looking at this puzzle which allowed you to cut a 9x11 rectangle into a 10x10 square%2C link is http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cut-the-knot.org%2Fpythagoras%2Ftricky.shtml%2C and I believe I noticed an error. It would appear that when you make the staircase cut in the 9x11 rectangle. It appears that the outline of this staircase cut is you go over 1 square and then followed by traveling up 9%2F10 of the square. When shifting the cut off piece%2C this would make a 9 9%2F10 x 10 rectangle%2C not a 10 x 10 rectangle. Additionally%2C when moving the piece around in the applet%2C if you connect the piece perfectly in the 10 square%2C you notice a tiny iota of a gap that only fills 9%2F10 of the last square. Thank you 1|1|0|||||RE%3A cutting a 9x11 rectangle into a 10x10 square|alexb||22:33:27|05/30/2009|I must confess you got me. There is no denying it.
